Bert Verbruggen
Biography
After finishing my masters degree in physics and astrophysics at the VUB I worked as an IT analyst and application architect for 5 years. In September 2018 I was happy to return to university as a teaching assistan. In this position I combine a love for teaching math to first-year students in applied economics and my interdisciplinary research.
Starting from my physics background I work with Machine learning techniques to unravel the dynamics within artificial systems, mainly focussing on artificial neural networks. On a parallel track I empirically study educational methods and their application within a classroom environment.
Outside the classroom you can most likely catch me reading (non-) fiction books or practicing sports like bouldering, swimming and gymnastics.
